The protection of your personal data has a high priority for the city of Kleve. This privacy policy informs you about what social data are, for what purpose and on which legal basis the processing takes place, how long your data is stored, what rights you have according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and who are responsible for data protection.

What are social data?

Social data are personal data processed by the city of Kleve with regard to the tasks of child and youth assistance. Personal data is information concerning your person. This includes information such as name, address, date of birth and place of birth, bank details, information on children and marriage and life partners as well as contact details.

For what purpose and on which legal basis is the processing?

Your data will be collected to create a list of participants. The survey is based on your voluntary consent. For other purposes, your data will only be processed if you consent to it or allow a legal power under the Social Code. In addition, processing can also be carried out for statistical purposes, scientific or historical research purposes. In this case, your data is anonymized or pseudonymized.

Personal data must be collected directly from the data subjects. If there is a right to access the data and if this right of access is not fulfilled by the data subjects, personal data may also be collected from third parties (e.g. social services providers).

How long will your data be stored?

Your data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage is omitted. The storage period is also influenced by the interest you have in obtaining information about the procedure after the actual matter has been completed. Furthermore, your data must still be available for the audit by pre-established departments. Your data will therefore usually be deleted after the event.

Your rights

Since your personal data is processed, you have the right to receive information about the data stored for your person (Art. 15 GDPR). If incorrect personal data are processed, you are entitled to correction (Art. 16 GDPR). If the legal requirements are met, you may request the erasure or restriction of processing and may object to processing (Arts. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR). If you make use of your aforementioned rights, it will be checked whether the legal requirements for this are met or, where appropriate, there is no right of information.
